KU Football to Scrimmage in Topeka

The University of Kansas football team will host one of its 15 spring workouts in the city of Topeka, Head Coach Mark Mangino announced Tuesday. The Jayhawks will conduct a scrimmage at Hummer Park beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 1. Gates to the stadium open at 1:15 p.m. and there is no admission charge to attend the event.
The football stadium at Hummer Park seats 6,000 fans and has hosted numerous KSHSAA State Football Championships.
The Jayhawks finished the 2005 season with a 7-5 overall record and were crowned champions of the Fort Worth Bowl after defeating Houston 42-13 on Dec. 23.
The Jayhawks play seven home games in Memorial Stadium in 2006. Public season tickets are $225. Faculty-staff season tickets are $180 and recent graduate packages are $150 (2004-06 graduation date). Family-Zone packages are also available for $300. The Family-Zone, located in the North Bowl, includes two adult and two youth general admission tickets.
