Kansas Women's Golf Improves to Seventh Place After Second Round of Sir Pizza Cards Challenge

Sir Pizza Cards Challenge Round Two Results Get Acrobat Reader

LAWERNCE, Kan.–Kansas women’s golf moved up four spots to seventh place overall following the second round of the Sir Pizza Cards Challenge in Weston, Fla., on Monday. Freshman Thanuttra Boonraksasat and junior Katy Nugent are tied at 14th to lead the Jayhawks through day two of the three day event.

Boonraksasat fell four spots after firing a 78 in the second round while Nugent moved up two spots after shooting a 76 for the second straight day.

Fellow Jayhawk Meghna Bal made the biggest improvement for KU, climbing to tied for 27th after finishing the first round tied for 53rd. The senior improved on her first round 81 with a 74 in the second round.

Senior Grace Thiry shot a 77 on Monday to move into a tie for 42nd, up 11 places from 53rd after the first round. Meghan Potee moved up one spot from tied for 59th to tied for 58th.

Competing as an individual, senior Jennifer Clark carded a 78 in the second round to help move her from tied for 69th to tied for 58th.

Kansas will complete the final round of the Sir Pizza Cards Challenge on Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. central time.
