Women's Golf Finishes 14th At Texas A&M "Mo"Morial Invitational

The University of Kansas women’s golf team finished in 14th place, in a 15-team field, at the Texas A&M “Mo”Morial Invitational in College Station, Texas. The Jayhawks shot a 329 final round score at the 6,226-yard, par-72, Traditions Golf Course to give them a two day total of 992.

“I am seeing progress in things we had been working on,” head coach Erin O’Neil said. “This was a tough course that brought to light a few things we still need to work on but I am still very confident about the spring.”

SMU took home the team title with a three round score of 942. Host Texas A&M and Kent State tied for second after each posted a 943.

Sophomore Amanda Costner led the Jayhawks with a three round score of 238 to place in a tie for 15th. Sophomore Jill Womble totaled a 250 to place in a tie for 54th. Junior Chelsey Pryor tied for 56th after three rounds with a score of 251. Junior Meredith Winkelmann tied for 70th as she shot a three round total of 260. Junior Tiffany Woods finished in a tie for 72nd after a two day score of 261.

“Amanda did a great job coming back and posting a good score today. I am very proud of her,” O’Neil said.

The Jayhawks will next play in the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas on March 11-13.
