LAWRENCE, Kan. –

University of Kansas senior guard Shaquina Mosley was named All-Big 12 Second Team, as announced by the league Friday. The honors were voted on by the league’s head coaches, with coaches not allowed to vote for their own players.

“This is a tremendous honor for Shaq,” head coach Bonnie Henrickson said. “She shares this honor with her teammates who have helped with her success during the year. She was our spark plug this season and her emergence during conference play was evident in our strong finish.”

The Lancaster, Calif., native leads the Jayhawks in points (10.7) and assists (110) and ranks second in rebounds (4.8). Mosley is averaging 16.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists in KU’s last 13 games.

Mosley has four double-doubles this season and scored double-figures 16 times. The 5-foot-6 guard set a career-high with 26 points in KU’s 70-66 victory over Missouri in its regular season finale on Thursday.

Mosley is in her second season with the program after transferring from Central Arizona Community College in 2005. She was named the 2005 Junior College/Community College Player of the Year.
