Junior Dougie McCaulley finished a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate as <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Kansas run-ruled Bradley, 10-2, in a shortened five inning game. The Jayhawks, who improved to 15-5 on the season, out-hit Bradley (5-3) 11-3 in the contest.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

McCaulley’s performance from the plate capped off an already stellar weekend for KU’s starting center fielder as she had eight hits in four contests over the weekend, including two doubles, to lead the team with a .571 average during the Coach B Southern Classic.

Seven other Jayhawks recorded hits against Bradley with senior Betsy Wilson and Stevie Crisosto each grabbing a pair of RBIs. Freshman Brittany Hile and Liz Kocon batted in one run a piece as did junior Amanda Jobe, who led off Kansas’ first at-bat with a home run, her fourth of the season.

Bradley scored one run in each the first and third innings, but Kansas rallied for four runs in the first, added one more in the second inning and finally strung together four hits for five runs in the fifth, aided by three Bradley errors, to cut the game short with an eight-run lead.

Junior Val George pitched her second victory of the weekend with eight strikeouts in 5.0 innings of work. George limited the Braves to just three hits in the contest and only one earned run.

Kansas will make its home debut next weekend when it hosts the Jayhawk Classic, March 8-9, at Arrocha Ballpark. IndianaState, Western Illinois and Pittsburgh will all make their way to Lawrence for the tournament.
