LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Kansas head coach Mark Francis announced Tuesday that the Jayhawks will play five exhibition matches during the spring season, beginning March 28 with a contest against Creighton at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex. KU will face foes from four different conferences during the spring.

The Jayhawks will open the spring schedule at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex against Creighton, from the Missouri Valley Conference. The Jays finished 12-6-1 overall last season. Kansas will then travel to St. Louis, Mo., to play a pair of games on April 4 against Saint Louis University and Marquette. The Billikens finished 11-6-4 overall last season and placed fourth in the Atlantic 10 Conference, while Marquette was 11-8-3 and qualified for the NCAA Tournament out of the Big East.

Kansas will then return home to face Southeastern Conference foe Arkansas at 2 p.m., on Saturday, April 11. The Lady Razorbacks were 11-8 in 2008 and placed ninth in the SEC.

KU will conclude its spring schedule with another two-game tournament in Omaha, Neb., at Creighton’s Michael G. Morrison Stadium. Opponents for these games are yet to be determined.

Last season, the Jayhawks went 13-8-2 overall, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament where they fell to top-seeded Stanford.
