Kansas softball (14-1) will look to win its fourth-straight tournament title when it participates in the UNLV Eller Media Stadium Classic this weekend, March 4-6, in Las Vegas, Nev. The Jayhawks will square off against Bradley (3-11), San Jose State (8-7), UNLV (7-6), Troy (11-3) and San Diego (2-3) during the three-day tournament.

Kansas, which is receiving votes in two major polls, is hitting .342 on the season and is led by sophomore Maggie Hull’s .409 batting average. Senior Brittany Hile is also hitting above the .400 mark as she raised her average nearly 150 points after last weekend and is now batting .405. Hile also leads the team with seven home runs, which is tied for second in the Big 12 Conference, and ranks seventh in the league with 18 RBIs, one shy of team leader Marissa Ingle (.372). KU, which hit 31 home runs in 2010, has already racked up 24 round-trippers so far this season. The Jayhawks have showcased their speed this year as well stealing 36 bases through 15 games to pass last year’s total mark of 26 thefts.

The KU bullpen has been equally impressive and is led by freshman Kristin Martinez, who is eighth in the league with a 1.35 ERA. She is tied for fifth in the Big 12 with six wins along with senior Allie Clark (2.94 ERA).
