Rain Finishes Jayhawks' Weekend in Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Thunderstorms and continuous rainfall canceled the Kansas softball team’s final game of the weekend against Connecticut, originally scheduled for Sunday at noon.

Kansas (15-2) defeated Connecticut, 8-0 in six innings and Charleston Southern, 6-3 on Friday. On Saturday morning, KU defeated Wisconsin, 4-0.

Sunday’s cancelation was the second of the weekend as the Charleston Southern Tournament championship game against Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon was also called off. Upon the cancelation, the Jayhawks were declared tournament champions after posting the 3-0 mark over the weekend, marking KU’s third title in as many weeks.

Kansas will wrap up the non-conference tournament season next weekend when the Jayhawks travel to Jacksonville, Fla., for the Osprey Classic, hosted by North Florida. Kansas will face Delaware State and North Florida in five games from March 9-11.
