LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Kansas volleyball signee Jessie Allen has been named to the 2010 Sports Imports Fab 50 list, it was announced by Volleyball magazine.

The award, regarded as the longest-running and most prestigious youth volleyball award, recognizes high school, club and international performance as well as potential impact at the college level.

Allen, a 6-2 middle blocker out of Aurora High School in Aurora, Neb., will join the Jayhawks beginning in Fall 2010. Earlier in the year, PrepVolleyball.com named Allen a senior ace, a label given to the country’s top 250 recruits. She finished her high school career as the school’s all-time leader in blocks and was named first team all-conference, class B all-state first team and all-Nebraska third team (for all classes) in her senior campaign.

Allen will join fellow Kansas volleyball signees Marianne Beal (6-0, MB, Lee’s Summit, Mo.), Amy Wehrs (5-10, OH, Hampshire, Ill.) and Kara Wehrs (5-10, S, Hampshire, Ill.) next fall.
