Jayhawks Finish Tied For Fourth At Louisiana Classics Invitational

LAFAYETTE, La. –

The Kansas men’s golf team tied for fourth place, in a 15-team field, at the Louisiana Classics Invitational at Oakbourne Country Club (par-72, 7,002 yards) in Lafayette, La. The Jayhawks shot a final round of 294 to give them a two round score of 586.

“We didn’t play like we are capable of as a team,” head coach Ross Randall said. “Hopefully we can practice and improve before our next tournament.”

SMU took home the team title for the fourth year in a row after carding a 582, followed by Tulsa and Kent State which tied for second after two round totals of 583.

Sophomore Tyler Docking finished tied for second place for the second straight tournament after he totaled a 142. Senior Andrew Price and sophomore Gary Woodland tied for 18th place after each posted two round scores of 148. Junior Pete Krsnich finished in a tie-for-26th after totaling a 149. Senior Kevin Ward, the defending individual champion of the tournament, tied for 56th after shooting a two day score of 155.

Junior Luke Trammell, playing as an individual, shot back-to-back rounds of 75 to finish in a tie for 33rd. His two day total of 150 led all golfers playing as individuals.

Kansas will next be in action at the Stevinson Ranch Intercollegiate in Stevinson, Calif. on March 21-22.
