Humphreys (10-2) struck out eight, walked seven and held the Lobos hitless through seven innings to get her first complete-game no-hitter of the season and fourth of her career (three in 2006). She was also 2-for-3 at the plate with a homer and double.

Sophomore Stevie Crisosto paced the Jayhawks offensively with three hits – all singles – and finished the weekend with a team-best .385 batting average. KU totaled eight hits off two different <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>New Mexico pitchers in the victory.

Kansas started the scoring in the bottom of the third off sophomore Elle Pottorf’s single to the right side that scored Crisosto. Humphreys’ solo homer over the left field fence in the bottom of the fifth, her second of the season and fifth of her career, upped the Kansas lead to two. Crisosto’s third single in as many at-bats helped KU add another run in the fifth inning.

KU tacked on one more run in the bottom of the sixth inning on a Humphreys double down the left field line to score sophomore Erika Simington from first. Simington was a pinch runner for senior Nicole Washburn, who posted a pinch-hit infield single.

The Jayhawks are 14-0 this season when scoring first.

KU continues the home stand Tuesday when it hosts UMKC in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
