Short Breaks Kansas Record at NCAAs

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Senior swimming captain Jenny Short broke a University of Kansas team record in the 200-yard backstroke in the final day of NCAA Swimming and Diving competition at the Minnesota Aquatics Center Saturday. Short’s time of 1:58.82 landed her a 32nd place finish and a season-best time, beating her Big 12 Conference Championships time by nearly a second (1:59.62).

In other Saturday NCAA competition, sophomore Danielle Herrmann recorded a time of 2:17.40 in the 200-yard breaststroke, good for a 32nd place finish, while freshman Ashley Robinson finished 29th in the 1650-yard freestyle event (16:31.14).

Rounding out the top-five team finishes at the Division I NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships were Auburn (535 points), Arizona (477), California (372.5), Stanford (333) and Georgia (290).
