Jayhawk Soccer Announces Spring Schedule

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

The University of Kansas soccer team announced that it has finalized its schedule for the spring season. The Jayhawks will play six games this spring, including five at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

The team opened their spring ledger on Saturday against Missouri State.

KU will be in action again on March 31, when the team hosts the Jayhawk Spring Tournament. The Jayhawks will play Big East foe Marquette at 10 a.m. and Big 10 opponent Iowa at 1:30 p.m.

On April 5, KU will play host to Washburn at 5 p.m. The following weekend, the Jayhawks will travel to Big 12 rival Nebraska for an exhibition match at 3:30 p.m.

KU’s final match of the spring will be against perennial Division II power, Nebraska-Omaha. In 2005, the Mavericks won the Division II national championship.

The Jayhawks return 19 players from last year’s squad, which finished fourth in the Big 12 at 11-7-1.
