KU earned a spot in this week’s ITA national poll after picking up wins against KansasState and New Mexico last week. The 5-5 Jayhawks won each dual, 4-3. KU’s ranking of No. 55 is its highest since it was 55th in 2003.

Senior Lauren Hommell won the clinching singles match against both KSU and UNM to improve her dual match record to 4-1 after missing the fall season due to injury.

Also playing well recently for Kansas has been junior Edina Horvath, who added two singles victories last week to improve her team-leading record to 8-2.

The Jayhawks enter the weekend winners of three of four duals, and their victory over K-State marked the first time since the 2003-04 season that the program has opened league play 1-0.

The last time KU began a Big 12 season 3-0 was the 20001-02 campaign when the Jayhawks won their first eight league matches.

The Buffaloes enters its matchup with KU with an overall mark of 3-6. CU is 1-0 in the Big 12 after a 7-0 win over Mizzou on March 8. CU’s best win of the season came over No. 67 Arizona on Feb. 29.

Missouri is currently 8-5 overall, 0-1 in league play. After putting together a stretch of eight straight wins early in the season, however, the Tigers have dropped their last three.
