Kansas Men's Basketball Trails Baylor, 37-33, in Quarterfinal Action at the Big 12 Tournament

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – After a slow start, the Kansas men’s basketball team trails ninth-seeded Baylor, 37-33, at halftime in the quarterfinals of the 2009 Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament.

KU struggled early with turnovers, while Baylor was shooting for a high percentage and led the Jayhawks by as many as 17 with just over seven minutes left in the period. Kansas went on a 20-7 run from there to trail by only four at intermission.

Tyshawn Taylor scored 10 points in the half to lead Kansas. Marcus Morris added nine points. Cole Aldrich grabbed eight rebounds to go with six points. Lacedarius Dunn and Curtis Jerrells scored 11 and 10 points for the Bears, respectively.

Kansas shot 45.5 percent (14-of-31) from the field and out-rebounded the Bears 19-12. Baylor shot 54.4 percent (13-of-24) from the field and hit five 3-pointers.
