Cash Leads Jayhawk Divers on Day 2 of Zones

HOUSTON – Kansas senior Christy Cash finished with a total score of 521.05 in the one-meter event to lead the Jayhawk divers on the second day of the NCAA Zone Diving Championships at the University of Houston’s Campus Recreation and Wellness Center in Houston, Texas Tuesday afternoon.

Cash’s preliminary round score of 256.45 was good enough to qualify her for the finals, where she added 264.60 points to her total to finish 17th.

Freshman Meredith Brownell finished the event with a score of 224.90 for 37th place and junior Alyssa Golden posted a score of 209.95 to finish 43rd.

The Jayhawk divers will be back in action tomorrow as they compete in the platform event on the final day of the NCAA Zone Diving Championships, with warm-ups beginning at 9 a.m. and the competition beginning at 11 a.m.
