WEF Introduces a Membership Referral Program

March 12, 2013

LAWRENCE, Kan. – With a grass-roots approach, the Williams Education Fund (WEF) is turning to its existing members to help encourage involvement from Kansas fans worldwide by introducing a new WEF membership referral program.

This membership referral program allows current members to receive priority points toward season ticket seating for recruiting new WEF members. Priority points will be awarded to existing WEF members for each new member’s consecutive years of donating. In addition, existing WEF members will receive additional points if the new member’s first-year donation is greater than $300.

“Joining the Williams Education Fund directly benefits our student-athletes,” Kansas Director of Athletics Sheahon Zenger said. “In order to maintain and surpass our success, we must continue to reach new members.”

Within the Big 12 Conference, the WEF is second-to-last in total number of donors, so the sustainability of the donor base is vital to preserve a competitive athletics program at the University of Kansas.

Williams Education Fund membership begins as low as $100 annually and flexible payment schedules are available.

For more information about the Williams Education Fund and its referral program, please call the WEF office at (855) GIVE-WEF, or visit the WEF website at www.WilliamsFund.com.

Originally founded as the Outland Club in 1949 by Dick, Skipper and Odd Williams, the WEF is the official fundraising department for Kansas Athletics. Contributors to the Williams Education Fund provide academic and athletic support to over 500 University of Kansas student-athletes representing KU in 18 intercollegiate sports.
