No. 3 Oklahoma Leads Kansas at the Half, 36-30

OKLAHOMA CITY – Kansas trails No. 3 Oklahoma at the half, 36-30, in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 women’s basketball championship in Oklahoma City. Danielle McCray and Sade Morris lead Kansas with 14 and eight points, respectively.
Oklahoma jumped out to an early 9-2 lead behind several Amanda Thompson mid-range jumpers and forced Kansas head coach Bonnie Henrickson to call a timeout 3:55 into the game. Morris and McCray got on track to lead Kansas on a 13-7 run and force an Oklahoma timeout with just over nine minutes remaining in the first with the score 16-15.
Since that run, KU has seen the Sooner lead see-saw between one and eight points. Kansas has yet to gain the lead, but has never trailed by more than eight points.
Oklahoma’s All-American center, Courtney Paris, has 17 points and nine rebounds. Thompson has scored ten points.
