Kansas Senior Proehl Qualifies for NCAA Championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas –

Kansas senior Meghan Proehl placed19th in the three-meter diving competition on the second day of the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships to qualify for next week’s NCAA Championships.

The senior from San Diego, Calif. tallied a six-dive score of 261.45. This score, coupled with her sixth place finish in the one-meter diving competition on day one, earned her a spot at the NCAA Championships.

Proehl will join junior swimmer Iuliia Kuzhil at next week’s competition. Kuzhil qualified at the Big 12 Championships on Feb. 26 with a Kansas record-breaking time of 52.80 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke.

The Zone D Championships conclude Sunday with the platform diving competition. The preliminary round begins at 11 a.m. Please check back with www.kuathletics.com from results from the final day.
