Bal Leads Kansas Through Day Two of Northern Migration Invitational

FLORENCE, Ariz. – Meghna Bal led Kansas through day two of competition with a 75 at the Northern Migration Invitational Tuesday. Kansas finished the day in fifth place after carding a 308 in the second round for a total of 607.

The University of Texas – San Antonio maintained its lead with a score of 296 to bring its two-day total to 594. Idaho also added a 296 to its total and is one stroke behind first place.

Bal is now tied for 18th with a total of 151. One stroke ahead of Bal is Grace Thiry, who added a 79 to her total and is tied for 10th with a 150. Emily Powers has a 152 after chipping in a 78 on day two and is currently tied for 22nd. Meghan Gockel jumped to tied for 47th after shooting a second round of 76 for a total of 156. Jennifer Clark fired an 85 to sit tied for 82nd with a 163.

Kayla Mortellaro of Idaho shot a one-under par 70 to keep her lead with a 138.

Play will conclude Wednesday with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
