KU Tennis To Begin Four Match Road Trip

Lawrence, Kan. – The University of Kansas tennis team will travel to Oklahoma and Florida for four matches against No. 48 Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, No. 60 South Florida and Central Florida over the next week. KU will look to improve on its 2-9 record overall and a 1-2 record in Big 12 play.

The first match of the weekend will be against the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman, Okla., on Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m. Oklahoma enters the match with a 9-4 record overall and a 2-1 mark in Big 12 play. Next up for the Jayhawks will be a short drive to Stillwater, Okla., for a matchup against Oklahoma State on Sunday, March 20 at 10 a.m. Oklahoma State carries a 4-7 record overall and the Cowgirls are 1-3 in conference matches.

Last season, the Jayhawks defeated Oklahoma State, 4-3, but fell to Oklahoma, 6-1.

Following the two Big 12 matches, the Jayhawks will head to Florida to face off against South Florida on Monday, March 21, in Tampa, Fla., before heading to Orlando, Fla., for match against Central Florida on Wednesday, March 23, in Orlando, Fla.

“We are ready for this weekend’s matches and I hope we can continue to move forward as the season progresses,” KU head coach Amy Hall-Holt said. “We feel like have a lot to prove and we have the possibility to make some huge strides this weekend.”
