Heavy rains halt second round of Betsy Rawls Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas – Inclement weather conditions canceled second-round action of the Betsy Rawls Invitational at The University of Texas Golf Club Tuesday. The tournament will be shortened to 36 holes, instead of 54, with the final 18-hole round set to begin Wednesday with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. Central.

The Jayhawks are currently tied for 14th place after Monday’s opening round with a team score of 325. Sophomore Emily Powers led KU in the opening round, firing a 77 to tie for 11th place.

New Mexico will maintain its lead throughout day three of the event, setting the pace in the team leaderboards at 303, while Ornell Jouven of Florida secures her first-place standing in the individual competition with a score of 72.
