Jayhawks Finish 13th at Betsy Rawls Invitational

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Kansas women’s golf team shot a final round 318 and a three-day total of 963, finishing 13th at the Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin, Texas.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
Duke finished first the in Invitational with a tournament-total of 907, followed by Texas A&M, Purdue, and OklahomaState.
The Blue Devils’ Amanda Blumenherst took home first place in the tournament, finishing with a two-over par 218.
Kansas’ highest finisher was Amanda Costner, who shot a 78 en route to a 22nd-place tie. Meredith Winkelmann finished tied for 39th, recording an 80 on Sunday.
Annie Giangrosso’s final-round 83 put her in a tie for 46th, while Chelsey Pryor recorded a 77 and finished in a 59th-place tie. Sarah Kierl shot a 91 on Sunday and finished 83rd.
KU will next be in action when it travels to Tucson, Ariz. on March 25 to compete in the Mountain View Collegiate.
