Kansas Women's Golf to Host Dual Match with Nebraska Wednesday

Due to weather conditions, the Jayhawk-Cornhusker Challenge hosted by Kansas women’s golf will play one round today (Wednesday) with teams starting at noon at Alvamar Golf Club public course.

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s golf will host former conference foe Nebraska in the Jayhawk-Cornhusker Challenge, a 36-hole dual match on Wednesday, March 20, at Alvamar Golf Club in Lawrence, Kan.

Both teams had competition rained out at the recent Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz., March 8-10, which created the event to be added to their spring schedules. Kansas finished 11th out of 16 teams at the Clover Cup, while Nebraska placed tied for 13th.

First-round tee times for the dual consisting of five groups on the public course at Alvamar will begin at 9 a.m. with the second round is schedule to start at 1:30 p.m. The course for the Jayhawk-Cornhusker Challenge measures 5,915 yards with a par 72. According to weather.com, the forecast shows sunny skies and light winds with the high in the mid to upper 40s for Wednesday in Lawrence.

Kansas will use the lineup of junior Yupaporn “Mook” Kawinpakorn , junior. Meghan Potee, freshman Thanuttra “Fhong” Boonraksasat, sophomore Minami Levonowich and sophomore Gabby DiMarco against the Huskers. KU freshman Mackenzie Thayer and senior Audrey Yowell will play as individuals in the dual.
