Swimmer Danielle Herrmann Travels to NCAAs

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas swimming and diving co-captain Danielle Herrmann will represent the Jayhawks at the 2008 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships March 20-22 in Columbus, Ohio. Herrmann automatically qualified for Nationals in the 200-yard IM at the 2008 Big 12 Championship meet Feb. 28-March 1 in Austin, Texas.

The Itasca, Ill., native reeled in a third-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:00.21, shattering a KU record in the event. Herrmann was additionally a member of the 200 and 400-yard medley relays that both finished second, breaking school records. To top off the championship meet, Herrmann rallied for two more individual Kansas all-time records in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events, bringing her record total to five.

Day one of competition kicks off Thursday at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus.
