First Two Rounds Complete for Kansas at Mountain View Invite

TUCSON, Ariz. – Through the first two rounds at the Mountain View Invitational, senior Katy Nugent paces the Kansas women’s golf team with a 36-hole total of 149 to finish the first day tied for 34th place. As a team, the Jayhawks are 14th after combining for a 613 (+37).

Kansas received strong performances through the first 18 holes, including a 72 from junior Audrey Yowell, one off her career low round and the best round of any Jayhawk on the day. After a team score of 301 (+13) in the first round, the Jayhawks struggled during round two as they combined for a score of 312 (+24).

Yowell, who was tied for 14th place after her first 18 holes, went on to card an 82 in her second round to finish the day with a 154 (+10) along with sophomore Meghan Potee (78-76). The pair finished tied for 54th and behind Nugent in the Kansas lineup. Nugent stayed steady with rounds of 74 (+2) and 75 (+3).

The final 18 holes of the Mountain View Invite will begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 24.
