Jayhawks to Play UMKC, Saint Louis at First Serve

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas tennis team will look to extend its two match winning streak when it hosts UMKC and Saint Louis on Saturday, March 25, at First Serve in Lawrence.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

KU is coming off of two wins in the state of <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Louisiana against Southern and LSU. The Tigers, ranked 48th in the nation, became the highest ranked team the Jayhawks have beaten this season. Kansas got singles wins from Ksenia Bukina, Elizaveta Avdeeva, Lauren Hommell and Edina Horvath, as well as a doubles victory from Avdeeva and Bukina, en route to its 4-3 win over LSU.

Last weekend, UMKC and Saint Louis squared off, with the Billikens winning, 5-0.

The Jayhawks will open the day against UMKC at 10 a.m., and then are scheduled to play Saint Louis at 4 p.m. Results will be made available at www.kuathletics.com shortly after play is completed.
