<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>LAWRENCE, Kan. – Following a rare week-long break, the University of Kansas will return to action this weekend when its takes on Oklahoma and OklahomaState in Lawrence. KU will face the Sooners on Friday at 11 a.m., and will then play the Cowgirls on Sunday, also at 11 a.m.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

The decision of whether to play the matches outdoors at Robinson Courts or inside at First Serve will be made based on weather conditions on the day of each contest.

KU enters the weekend looking to get back on track after suffering three-straight losses, the most recent being a 4-3 setback at the hands of now No. 45 Iowa.

Overall, the Jayhawks record stands at 5-8, 1-2 in Big 12 play. Last Thursday’s dual against Iowa was Kansas’ final non-conference matchup of the season.

Leading KU this season has been junior Edina Horvath, who boasts a team-leading dual-match singles record of 9-4, and is also 9-4 in doubles play with senior Elizaveta Avdeeva. Also coming on strong recently has been sophomore Kunigunda Dorn, who is making up for a disappointing start to the season with three wins in her last four singles matches, including one of only two for Kansas – senior Lauren Hommell had the other – against the Hawkeyes last week.

OU currently stands at 7-6 overall, 0-2 in league play. The Sooners, who have lost four of five duals, are led by Ana-Maria Constantinescu, the nation’s 87th-ranked singles player.

Oklahoma State is 5-5 overall, 0-2 in conference action. OSU has also lost four of five, but defeated No. 61 Wichita State, 5-2, in its last outing.

This weekend marks the first of four-straight home matches for the Jayhawks. Furthermore, six of KU’s remaining eight duals will be played in Lawrence.
