The Jayhawks (9-6) are playing their best tennis of the season as the heart of the conference schedule nears. Following its 4-3 triumph over LSU, KU swept its three other opponents — Southern, UMKC, and Saint Louis — to finish its non-conference season with a stellar mark of 9-3.

Several Jayhawks put together impressive stats during the win streak, but none may be as hot as sophomore Elizaveta Avdeeva. The Obninsk, Russia native extended her singles winning streak to seven matches, and has also won five straight doubles contests teamed with freshman Ksenia Bukina.

Sophomore Lauren Hommell and freshman Edina Horvath also each had a strong stretch of matches, going a combined 8-0 against LSU, Southern, UMKC, and Saint Louis in singles contests.

Kansas will look to extend its winning streak this weekend when it takes on Oklahoma on Saturday and IowaState on Sunday. Both matches are scheduled to be played at Robinson Courts in Lawrence.
