Men's Golf Places 15th At Western Intercollegiate

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. –

The University of Kansas men’s golf team finished in 15 place, in a 16-team field, at the 60th Annual Western Intercollegiate. Kansas shot a final round of 307 (610 total) at the par 70, 6,432-yard Pasatiempo Golf Course. The tournament was only two rounds long due to rain and hail that haulted the second round of play on Monday.

“We struggled this week with the weather,” head coach Ross Randall said. “We are looking forward to getting back and practicing to get ready for our next tournament.”

Duke held on to first after posting a score of 577, while Stanford came in second with a 579.

Senior Pete Krsnich finished in a tie for 29th after a final round of 75 gave him a 149 total. Junior Tyler Docking placed in a tie for 48th after a second round of 76 gave him a 152. Junior Gary Woodland tied for 58th after a 77 gave him a 153 total. Senior Luke Trammell shot a final round of 79 for a 156 to tie fo 69th. Sophomore Joey Mundy shot a 79 to tie for 75th with a 157 total.

The Jayhawks will be back in action at the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate in Cary, N.C. on April 7-8.
