KU Football Team to Practice in Topeka

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The University of Kansas football team is scheduled to hold a spring workout Saturday at Hummer Sports Park in Topeka. The Jayhawks will conduct a scrimmage at the facility beginning at 2 p.m. Gates to the stadium open at 1:15 p.m. and there is no admission charge to attend the event. The football stadium at Hummer Park seats 6,000 fans and has hosted numerous KSHSAA State Football Championships.

Fans attending the event will have the opportunity to purchase season tickets for the 2006 football season. In addition, official KU merchandise will be available from the KU Store.

The Jayhawks play seven home games in Memorial Stadium in 2006. Public season tickets are $225. Faculty-staff season tickets are $180 and recent graduate packages are $150 (2004-06 graduation date). Family-Zone packages are also available for $300. The Family-Zone, located in the North Bowl, includes two adult and two youth general admission tickets. KU will hold its annual Alumni Game and Spring Scrimmage on Friday, April 14, at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff for the alumni flag football game is set for 5 p.m. and the Spring Scrimmage will kickoff at 7 p.m.
