Kansas Women's Golf to Compete in Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate

March 30, 2011

LAWRENCE, Kan.—Kansas women’s golf travels to University, Miss., for the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate April 1-3. The Jayhawks look to rebound after a tough outing at the MountainView Collegiate.

“Our last tournament didn’t go as well as we would have liked, but this is a new week,” said Kansas head coach Erin O’Neil. “Often times a not so good finish is an opportunity to learn from our mistakes and will hopefully make us better. We will make some adjustments with shot selections, focus on what is in our control, and also be sure to take it one shot at a time.”

Kansas is led by Thanuttra Boonraksasat after the freshman finished strong at the MountainView Collegiate, firing a 70 in the final round.

Thanuttra is joined in the Kansas lineup by fellow freshman Meghan Potee, junior Katy Nugent and seniors Meghna Bal and Grace Thiry.

18 teams will compete in the event including Ole Miss, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Maryland, Memphis, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Murray State, Rollins, SMU, South Florida, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Tulane, Tulsa and UCF.

Kansas will finish the regular season at the Baylor Spring Invitational in Waco, Texas, April 11 and 12.
