Football Spring Scrimmage and Alumni Game Set For April 14

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Head Coach Mark Mangino and the University of Kansas football team invite all Jayhawk fans to the 2006 Spring Scrimmage Friday, April 14, at 7 p.m. in Memorial Stadium. Prior to the scrimmage, many former KU football players will return to Lawrence to participate in the Third Annual Alumni Game, which kicks off at 5 p.m. Both events are free to the public.
Before the games, the KU Alumni Association and Kansas Athletics will be offering free food and beverages to all KU football fans while supplies last. The first 5,000 fans in the stadium will receive a mini Jayhawk football. In addition, the spirit squad will perform at the event.
A television crew from Fox Sports Net will be on hand filming the scrimmage to produce a 30-minute Spring Game special, which will be aired several times throughout the summer.
In addition, at 1 p.m. on April 14 a luncheon honoring long-time football staff members Marge Hazlett and Carole Hadl will take place at the Eldridge Hotel in downtown Lawrence. Cost of the luncheon is $15 and space is limited. Contact Kansas Athletics at 785-864-3196 for more information.
The Jayhawks will play seven home games in Memorial Stadium in 2006. Public season tickets are $225. Faculty-staff season tickets are $180 and recent graduate packages are $150 (2004-06 graduation date). Family-Zone packages are also available for $300. The Family-Zone, located in the North Bowl, includes two adult and two youth general admission tickets. Gates to the stadium and parking lots will open at 4 p.m.
The KU ticket office will be open for fans wishing to purchase tickets for the 2006 season.

The Kid’s Fun Zone will open at 4 p.m. on the southeast side of the stadium
The KU Store will be open and located in the west concourse.
Concessions will be sold during the game in the west concourse.
