Volleyball To Play Exhibition Game, Raise Money For Cancer Patient

LAWRENCE, Kan. –
In order to help raise money to fund medical expenses for cancer patient and head <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Kansas volleyball coach Ray Bechard’s brother, the University of Kansas volleyball team will play an exhibition game against Washburn Wednesday, April 9 at 7 p.m. at GardnerEdgertonHigh School.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
Admission to the contest is a $5 donation. All funds raised will go to the Don Bechard medical fund at Patriots Bank Gardner.
Don, who is fighting pleomorphic liposarcoma cancer, is the father of three and is the basketball, volleyball and golf coach at GardnerHigh School located in Gardner, Kan.
“In the grand scheme of life, we have a much bigger role and a commitment to helping others,” said Ray Bechard. “This is obviously a cause that is near and dear to me and, although I wish the circumstances were different, I am pleased that we are involved with such a great cause.”
