Jayhawks Fall at No. 16 Texas A&M, 6-1

COLLEGE STATION, Texas—Sophomore Dylan Windom notched her second Big 12 singles victory this season but the University of Kansas women’s tennis team could not overcome No. 16 Texas A&M, dropping a 6-1 decision to the Aggies Sunday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.
KU falls to 9-9 overall and 0-6 in Big 12 play while Texas A&M improved to 13-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference.
The Aggies swept in doubles play, giving them the first point of the match. After junior Monica Pezzotti fell to No. 17 Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar at the top singles position, Kansas’ only victory of the day came at the No. 4 singles spot, where Windom took down Lauren Santacroce, 6-3, 6-0.
After a weekend off, KU will continue its five-match road swing next weekend when the Jayhawks face Missouri on Friday, April 13, at 5 p.m. in Columbia, Mo., and Iowa State on Sunday, April 15, in Ames, Iowa, with times to be determined.
