Kansas Football To Hold Open Practice On Friday

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas football will hold a practice, which will be open to the public on Friday, April 4. The practice will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will take place on the grass practice fields west of Hoglund baseball stadium.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

The Jayhawks will then conclude spring practice next week with the annual spring game sponsored by People’s Bank on Saturday, April 12 at 1 p.m.

There will be no admission charge to the game, which will be played at Kivisto Field at Memorial Stadium. At halftime, The Sporting News magazine will present its national coach of the year trophy to Jayhawk head coach Mark Mangino.

After the game, selected players will be available to sign autographs.

KU will begin the 2008 campaign on August 30 against Florida International. The Jayhawks will host non-conference foes Louisiana Tech (Sept. 6) and SamHoustonState (Sept. 20) before Big 12 rivals Colorado (Oct. 11) Texas Tech (Oct. 25), Kansas State (Nov. 1) and Texas (Nov. 15) visit Lawrence.

Season tickets for the seven-game home schedule are on sale now for $300. The Perkins Restaurants family plan, which includes two youth and two adult general admission tickets, is $400.
