Kansas Football Holds Second Practice of the Spring

April 2, 2011

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Kansas football held its second practice of the spring on a sunny Saturday morning at the practice fields at the Anderson Family Football Complex. The Jayhawks practiced for the second straight day without pads.

“I loved the way the guys came out in back-to-back days. I know a lot of them were sore after practicing yesterday, but we had a great focus today,” Kansas head coach Turner Gill said. “We had a lot of enthusiasm and energy both from the coaches and the players so we’re making progress.”

Coach Gill said that junior cornerback Greg Brown, junior safety Bradley McDougald and senior tight end Tim Biere stood out individually in practice Saturday. Brown made a juggling interception during a scrimmage drill and led the team with the mission statement at the end of practice.

The Jayhawks will return to the practice fields in full pads Monday at 2:30 p.m.
