SAN ANTONIO, Texas The University of Kansas men’s basketball team spent its first full day at the 2008 Final Four with an early afternoon practice. Following a late lunch, the Jayhawks attended the NCAA’s annual Salute Presentation in downtown San Antonio.

At the Salute Presentation, each Final Four team was introduced and all four head coaches were interviewed by CBS play-by-play star Jim Nantz before a near capacity crowd at Lila Cockrell Theatre in downtown San Antonio. The event also featured the first three minutes of CBS’ famous “One Shining Moment” video shown at the conclusion of the Final Four. The end of the video will be added following Monday night’s championship contest.

With all four coaches on the stage being interviewed, Nantz referred to the Kansas ties for current Jayhawk coach Bill Self, Memphis head coach John Calipari, who was an assistant at KU under Larry Brown in the 1980s, and North Carolina head coach Roy Williams who guided Kansas to four Final Four appearances during his 15 seasons as KU head coach.

Tomorrow, the Jayhawks will have their open practice at the Alamodome from 1-1:50 p.m. (Central) and do media interviews following.
