Position Title: Assistant

Appointment: 12 month
Salary: $1200.00 per month stipend
Duties: Intern will be involved in all aspects of publicizing the University of Kansas’ 18-sport intercollegiate program. Specific sports will include – -cross country, indoor/outdoor track & field and the Kansas Relays. Duties include writing press releases, press guides, game programs and feature articles; coordinating all media activities for assigned sports; working with local, regional and national media; compiling statistics and reporting results to media; assisting in all phases of publicity for football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball.
Required College degree in journalism or related field, previous work experience inQualifications: media relations office and/or related field. Must have proven written and oral communications skills. Ability to write, edit and produce press releases and press guides. Knowledge and experience with Automated Scorebook, InDesign, QuarkXpress and/or PhotoShop software helpful.
