Jayhawks Wrap up Regular Season at Wyoming Cowboy Classic

LAWRENCE, KAN. –

The University of Kansas men’s golf team will conclude its regular season when they travel to Scottsdale, Ariz. on April 9-10 to compete in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic. The tournament will be held at Talking Stick Golf Club. Talking Stick is a par-70 course that measures 7,133 yards.

The Jayhawks will once again be led by the senior duo of Gary Woodland and Tyler Docking. The tandem has combined for 13 top-10 finishes on the year. Both players rank among the top 150 individuals in the country.

“We are looking forward to getting to play in some warm weather and the course should be a good test for us,” said head coach Ross Randall. “This tournament marks our final preparation for the Big 12 Championship and we are really looking to establish some steadiness and consistency. Hopefully we can play well and build some momentum heading into Prairie Dunes.”

Senior Barrett Martens will be making his spring debut at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic. Martens held a scoring average of 78.44 during the fall portion of the schedule. Junior Joey Mundy will be playing in his fifth straight event at next week’s tournament. Sophomore Zach Pederson will round out the lineup for the Jayhawks.

The event will consist of 36-holes played on Monday, April 9 followed by the final round of play being conducted on Tuesday, April 10. Check back to kuathletics.com for complete results.
