April 7, 2006

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Kansas swimming and diving team was named an Academic All-American team by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The `Hawks were one of 275 squads named to the list.

The team recorded an overall GPA of 3.26. This was the 26th highest overall GPA in Division I swimming and the highest in the Big 12.

“Our number one team goal each semester is earning Academic All-American status. The success in the classroom is due to the hard work by our swimmers and divers and to our academic advisor, Laura Jacobsen. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful academic support staff who reinforce our scholarly goals on a regular basis,” head coach Clark Campbell said.

The CSCAA will name its individual Academic All-Americans in June.
