Kansas Downs Drake, Falls to Iowa

Sophomore Kim Boyer and freshman Katie Williams each tallied goals Saturday afternoon as the Kansas soccer team knocked off Drake, 2-0 at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
Boyer, who has three goals during exhibition play this spring, gave KU a 1-0 lead when she finished a cross from junior Jessica Bush. Williams, who scored three goals last season, used her head to direct a corner kick into the net to clinch the contest.
In the first match of the day, KU fell to Iowa, 1-0. The Hawkeyes scored their lone goal on a ball that deflected off a Jayhawk defender.
KU will play host to Creighton in an exhibition match Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex. Admission to all spring soccer contests is free of charge.
