Team Notes:
- The Jayhawks gave up a run in the first inning for the eighth time this season, but won the game to move to 4-4 when allowing a run in the first.
- KU scored in the first inning for the 11th time this season, improving them to 8-3 when scoring in the first.
- The Jayhawks had 6 different players record hits on the day.
- KU turned three double plays for the second day in a row, bringing their season total to 28.
Individual Notes:
- Michael Suiter collected a bunt single in the first inning, bringing his season hit total to a team-high 43. Suiter went 7-for-12 in the series.
- Suiter collected his team leading sixth outfield assist on the season.
- Starting pitcher Wes Benjamin’s win brings his season record to 3-3. It was his first victory since March 16 (at TCU).
- Junior Jordan Piché recorded his team leading sixth save on the season. He has allowed just one run in his last seven outings (one win, three saves in those outings).
- Sophomore Justin Protacio collected a leadoff single in the first inning. He has reached base in 26 of his 28 games played.
