Senior Amanda Costner carded a 70 in the second round as the <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>University of Kansas placed seventh after two rounds of the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic Sunday at the Jimmie Austin University of Oklahoma Golf Course (par-72/6,013 yards). The Jayhawks shot a two-round total of 589. <?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

Baylor sits in first place in the team competition at seven-under par with 569 shots. KU is just three shots behind fifth-place Kansas State and Oklahoma City, and two shots ahead of host school Oklahoma.

Costner finished with a two-round total of 145 (75-70), one-over par, to tie for 11th place, while freshman Camilla Svensson shot 147 (73-74) after two rounds to finish in a tie for 24th place.

Junior Annie Giangrosso carded 149 (76-73) after the first day of competition, and freshman Emily Powers shot a two-round 150 (73-77). Freshman Meghan Gockel finished with 153 shots (74-79) after two rounds, while sophomore Jaci Hiatt, who is competing unattached, carded a 158 (73-85).

Arkansas’ Stacy Lewis holds the top spot individually with a seven-under par 134 (67-67) after two rounds of competition.

The final round will begin with a shotgun start tomorrow at 8 a.m.
