KU Finishes Tied For Ninth At Susie Maxwell

NORMAN, Okla. –

The University of Kansas women’s golf team finished in a tie ninth place at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic. The Jayhawks shot a final round of 310 for a 923 total.

Oklahoma State held on to the two day lead by taking the title with an 867, followed by SMU which shot an 892.

“We have some things to tighten up before the Big 12 Tournament,” head coach Erin O’Neil said. “Amanda played very well for us in this tournament and I am very pleased to see that.”

Junior Amanda Costner tied for sixth after a final round of 76 gave her a 222. Sophomore Annie Giangrosso placed in a tie for 26th after shooting an 82 for a 229 total. Senior Chelsey Pryor finished tied for 28th after a final round of 73 gave her a 230. Senior Meredith Winkelmann tied for 77th after a final round of 79 gave her a 242. Junior Jill Womble placed 88th after a round of 84 gave her a 253 total. Sophomore Sarah Kierl, playing as an individual, tied for 77th after shooting a final round of 81 for a 242.

The Jayhawks will be back in action on April 17-19 at the Big 12 Championship in Lincoln, Neb.
