LAWRENCE, Kan. – Saint Thomas Aquinas High School senior midfielder Missy Geha has been named Gatorade’s Soccer Player of the Year for the state of Kansas.

Geha has signed a letter of intent to join the University of Kansas soccer team for next season and is a part of this year’s recruiting class which includes several highly-rated high school performers.

“I think this is a great honor for Missy and is certainly one that is well deserved,” said Kansas head coach Mark Francis. “We are very excited to have her coming in as a part of our program and we expect her to come in and contribute for us right away”

Geha will replace her sister Amy Geha who completed her eligibility this fall after compiling 31 career points in her four-year career at KU. Following her senior season in 2004, Amy Geha was selected as second team All-Big 12.
