Tennis Set to Travel to Colorado

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The University of Kansas tennis team will travel to Boulder to take on 50th ranked Colorado on Saturday, April 15. The match is set to get underway at 11 a.m.

The dual is the first of three straight conference road dates for KU as it closes out its regular season.

The 67th ranked Jayhawks are coming off a weekend in which they split matches with Missouri and Baylor. On Saturday, KU handled its Border Showdown rivals, 6-1, getting singles wins from Ksenia Bukina, Elizaveta Avdeeva, Christine Skoda, Lauren Hommell and Edina Horvath.

Kansas then fell to BU — who entered the match at No. 8 and now sit at No. 5 — the following afternoon by a score of 6-1. The Jayhawks’ tandem of Lauren Hommell and Edina Horvath notched a doubles victory, and Horvath then followed with a singles win over 120th ranked Iva Mihaylova, 6-3, 7-6 (6), extending her streak of consecutive victories to nine.

The Jayhawks are currently 12-8 overall and 3-5 in league play, while Colorado enters Saturday with a 10-7 mark, including a 4-5 conference record. Kansas is currently one game behind CU for eighth-place in the Big 12 standings.
