Jayhawks Hold Practice In Anschutz Thursday

April 12, 2012

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas football moved inside for its eighth practice of the 2012 spring season, taking the field inside Anschutz Pavilion Thursday afternoon. The Jayhawks, who have enjoyed picturesque weather conditions during the first two weeks of spring ball, had already planned to practice inside Thursday and the weather in Lawrence followed accordingly with rain showers covering the area.

After bussing over to Anschutz from the Anderson Family Football Complex, KU held to its standard practice of working for nearly two and half hours. The Jayhawks deviated from their normal opening periods of practice, which are typically spent working on individual drills, and instead worked on several team concepts they had yet to install this spring.

Additionally Thursday, head coach Charlie Weis announced that KU was informed the NCAA would be hearing the case on sophomore wide receiver Justin McCay’s waiver on Wednesday, April 18. McCay, who transferred to Kansas from Oklahoma in January, requested a waiver to play immediately due to extenuating personal circumstances. A decision from the NCAA on the case is expected April 18-19.
