Kansas Head Coach Ritch Price:

On the weekend sweep…

“I’m mostly pleased with how we responded to how cold and windy it was. I thought our players showed some toughness (this weekend). We played well in all phases of the game. It’s really hard to sweep anybody in this league. The (Big 12) is so good and the teams are so well-coached. Today was a huge game for us; it was a really important game for us statistically in the standings.”

On the Kansas pitching…

“This is the first time all year that we’ve gotten three quality starts in the same weekend. We’ve had some weekends when we’ve gotten two, and we’ve scored enough runs in every series to win two out of three, but our pitching just hadn’t quite gotten it done. I was really pleased with the win today.”

On the Kansas defense…

“We picked a guy off, turned a double play, and we made a diving play at third today. We’ve played pretty well defensively all year and one of our points of emphasis was to do a better job of holding runners this year. Their team (Texas Tech) is built on speed and I thought that was one of the keys to the series. We threw a couple guys out at second and didn’t really let them get going.”
