Kansas Women's Golf in Second at Indiana Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Kansas junior Thanuttra Boonraksasat is tied for third place after two rounds of the Indiana Invitational as the KU women’s golf team is in second place heading into Sunday’s final round at the Indiana University Golf Course here Saturday.

Boonraksasat shot a 75-74 for at 149 (+5) in Saturday’s first two rounds and is one of two KU golfers in the top 10 of the 85-golfer field. KU freshman Yupaporn Kawinpakorn is tied eighth at 151 (+7, 78-73) on the par-72 course. Indiana’s Elizabeth Tong leads the field with a 146 (+3, 71-75), which is two strokes ahead of second-place Corey Crossan of Eastern Michigan at 148 (+4, 73-75) and three in front of Boonraksasat.

Host Indiana has the team lead at 595 (298-297) which is +19 to par. Kansas is in second in the 15-team field at 600 (+24) after shooting a 304 (+16) in the morning round and improving with the low team round of the day at 296 (+8) in the afternoon. Toledo is in third at 616 (+38, 308-308).

Kansas junior Meghan Potee shot a 2-under 70 in her second round which tied two others for the low round for the event. Potee, whose 70 is a season low for 2012-13, is tied for 12th overall at 152 (+8, 82-70), one stroke behind Kawinpakorn. KU senior Audrey Yowell is 15th at 153 (+9, 74-79), while sophomore Minami Levonowich is tied for 22nd at 156 (+12, 77-79). Jayhawk sophomore Gabby DiMarco is leader of the 10-person field of individuals at 157 (+13, 77-80), which is tied for 25th overall.

The Indiana Invitational will conclude with 18 holes on Sunday, April 14.
